Manteno State Hospital - July 1, 1958 - June 30, 1959
Reliance upon foreign-trained physicians still prevails.
X-ray laboratory was completed at Prince building and
put in operation.
Second annual "Art-O-Rama" held by the patients
on June 2 and 3, 1959, was a fine exhibition of the
accomplishments of the arts program directed by the
occupational therapy staff. Approximately 1,800 persons
attended this showing of 250 paintings and 150 items
of leather, pottery, sculpturing, book-binding and other
work. Patients gave demonstrations of weaving, leather
tooling, enameling and ceramics. In smocks and berets,
they served as guides and hosts or hostesses for the
Art-O-Rama.
A new terrazzo floor was installed at Clouston dinning
room and kitchen area.
